Gloriosum is one of those plants that looks almost unreal in person. Its deep green foliage has a soft, velvet-like appearance with striking cream to white veins that become even more impressive as the leaves mature.
Unlike many Philodendrons that want to climb, Gloriosum is a crawler! Its rhizome grows horizontally across the surface of the soil, producing increasingly impressive leaves along the way. Give it room to crawl and this beauty can become an incredible statement plant.
Gloriosum is considered a more collectible Philodendron, but its care is surprisingly approachable once you understand what it likes.

Plant Care
Place in bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch its velvety leaves.
Water when approximately the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Gloriosum prefers consistent moisture but is much happier being slightly dry than sitting in soggy soil.
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix that allows plenty of airflow around the roots.
Gloriosum appreciates higher humidity, although it can adapt to normal household conditions with proper care.
Keep between approximately 65–85°F and protect from temperatures below 60°F and cold drafts.
Because this Philodendron grows horizontally, consider moving it into a wide or rectangular planter as it matures so its rhizome has plenty of room to crawl.
